January's Meeting Night

January 9th's meeting got off to an excellent start. Many of the Brothers came a little early to catch up with one anothers travels and to have some private time with close friends.

The Lodge met in the small dining room along with three of the Lodge's candidates for a chicken or stuffed pork chop supper.

As is usual for St. John's Lodge No. 9, there was a lot of joking and good humor around the tables. The Brethren caught up on one anothers families and travels after the holidays and were happy to be together again.

Everyone present enjoyed the holidays and hope that all our Brothers who were not present enjoyed theirs as well.

Following the meal the Lodge retired to the Lodge room where soon to be Brother Ken Wehl presented a magic show. He made a ketchup bottle disappear from a paper bag, he tried to destroy VWB Jim Russell's hundred dollar bill (A lot of joking and merriment on this one), he did card tricks, and a lot more. It was a most enjoyable show

Once the magic show was over it was time to begin the Stated Communication for the month.

This was also a fun time. The ritual portion of the meeting went with the usual St. John's Lodge No. 9 crispness and solemnity. After this was done the Lodge settled down into the monthly meeting routine. WM Albertson made the usual faux pas' for the first meeting of a new master and this gave the Brethren (especially the past master's who have all made the same mistakes) much merriment. It was tentatively decided to have the two Entered Apprentice degrees at the joint degree in February and the Fellowcraft degree sometime this month. This website will publish the date and time as soon as it is known for the Fellowcraft degree. Other news from the meeting will appear in the appropriate places on this website, if applicable.
