2002 Family Brunch

The chill of the morning was more than offset by the warmth of family friendships renewed at Ivar's Salmon House on the morning of May fifth as St. John's Lodge held its annual family brunch.

One hundred twenty-five members and their families arrived and filled not only the reserved dining room but another room as well.

WM 'Skip' Albertson had a prayer said and spent only a minute welcoming everyone and wishing for a good time for all before opening the brunch. The rest of the time was spent without speeches or other interruptions among friends with good food and conversation.

The food was excellent and those present enjoyed fare from the buffet line as well as omelets, crepes, and desserts prepared as we watched by the Ivar's chefs.

Seating was at long tables so that the members and their families could easily converse with others and this added a way to catch up on the doings of other members families in the close knit community that St. John's Lodge comprises.

Many of those present went back for seconds and thirds and the two hours allotted for this affair went by much too quickly. Of course no one had to leave at 10:30 but the business opened to the public at that time and most of the membership had eaten and were off to church which began at eleven or off to their Sunday outings.

As it is each year, this brunch was St. John's Lodge No. 9's way of saying thank you to the families of the members for allowing the time for the members to attend Lodge and the other functions of the Lodge during the year. All those who attended had a wonderful time and look forward to the next Brunch next year.
