| At five o'clock on a dull gray Wednesday the thirteenth of November the officers, Trustees and webmaster of St. John's Lodge No. 9 met at the Buca di Beppo restaurant on Ninth Avenue North and Roy Street for the annual Officers Appreciation Dinner. Inside at the Pope's table where the dinner was held the atmosphere was anything but dull and gray. | | |
 | | Lively conversation and a sense of a job well done during the past year made for a very pleasant atmosphere. Even though the Washington Huskies aren't doing so well on the gridiron there was still the usual bantering with W Bro. Chuck Brockway about his Wazzu Cougars. Senior Warden Terry Grove presented him with a "Cougar's Tailgate Party magnetic sign for his vehicle and | | W Bro. Chuck seemed to really appreciate the gesture. It is well that the officers can have fun together after working side by side over an eventful year. |
When food began to arrive it looked as though there wasn't going to be | enough to feed everyone but the waiter just kept bringing more and more to the table. From pizza to veal with many other dishes in between the brethren were kept filling their plates until no one could eat anything more. There were toasts made to the officer's for doing such a fine job during the year and there was a special toast honoring W. Master Skip Albertson's leadership during the year. | | | |
 | | After everyone had eaten just about all they could it was time for dessert. The portions were absolutely immense and these were split up among the brethren. Even though they were sometimes split four ways there was still too much to consume. This restaurant not only served excellent food but served a lot of it and maintained a very pleasant atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. |
W. Master Skip Albertson has had a very successful year and this dinner underscored the comeraderie between the Master, the officer's corps, and the trustees and the hard work and good times that all have shared during the past year. |
| After dessert the brethren reluctantly began to disperse to their homes and private lives. It seemed that everyone wished to linger and prolong the evening but all have other things they must do. This dinner will be long remembered by those present. |
