2002 MRC Oyster Feed Pictures by Darrel Womack and story input from James Russell
In keeping with a tradition which has gone on each year since at least 1937, St. John's Lodge No. 9 has put on another oyster feed for the residents of the Masonic Retirement Center in Zeneth, WA.
| Lodge Secretary Jim Russell said that the thirteen members |
| | along with a couple of their wives made this one of the best turn outs for the oyster feed in his eighteen years of being associated with the event. It was |
| definitely worth everyone's time. |
Present and ready to help were our Master, Skip Albertson, assisted by SW Terry Grove, SD Joseph Lund, Marshall Jim Wold, Secretary Jim Russell, Trustees David Campbell
and Chuck Brockway, and other brothers from the Lodge, webmaster Charlie Tupper, Al Thornton, Richard Oslund, Glenn Goodson, Darrel Womak, and Steve Specht.
VW Bro. David Julian provided musical entertainment before the meal and then put on a show after in the main sitting room of the MRC. Thank you David for helping make this a memorable occasion for the residents.
We had a couple of more St. John's brothers there also: residents Frank Cushman and Bill Couch. (PM Capt. Schwartz, age 95, is living in the special care area of the MRC, and takes his meals in that facility.) Frank and Bill helped consume a portion of the nine gallons of oysters provided by the Lodge. |

| | Jane Ipsen,CEO of the MRC welcomed the Lodge to the center and said that this was her first experience with this feed but she hoped it would not be anywhere near the last. The Lodge loves to do this event. |
| WB Skip Albertson presented a $1000 check for the resident's "cheer fund," which goes to help support special activities for the residents of the Center. You can bet there was a spontaneous response of cheers and whistles as this was announced! | | |
| | The main event of the evening were the oysters. The Lodge supplied nine gallons of oysters and chef Bill Mattson prepared the stew to feed the happy residents. He has been doing this for the past ten years. |
The Lodge members served the entire nine gallons of stew to the residents. It took just about a half hour for it to be consumed. All of the residents were happy with this years feed and at the end were full and contented.
