March Stated Communication

At 6 PM on Wednesday, March 5th Brethren and Visitors began to gather for St. John's Lodge No. 9's King Solomon Table Lodge. Old acquaintances were renewed and everyone enjoyed the opportunity to once more. At 6:30 the officers of the Lodge led everyone into the dining room and all marched around the tables before being seated. Table Lodge was then officially opened by the officers.

Once the prayer was said and the first toast was done, Steve (Steve's Expresso Cafe) had appetizers, salad, ribs, corn on the cob, baked beans, and ice cream and bread pudding served to all present. One could only hear the sounds of knives, forks, and spoons as the brethren ate for quite some time. An excellent repast, as is usual.

After the meal a report on the youth group visitations was given and it was the opinion of the brethren that these groups need more adult participation.

Toasts were given periodically throughout the evening and more reports were interspersed. There will be two Master Mason degrees on Saturday, March 22nd and possibly three. All Master Masons are encouraged to attend.

VWB David Julian, WM of Daylight Lodge No. 232 and Organist of St. John's Lodge No. 9 entertained the Lodge with his usual expertise at the keyboard before and after the meal. It is always a joy to listen to WB David's musical talents.

Fines were light for transgressions compared to last year's Table Lodge and were not nearly as pronounced to the Brethren.

At about 8:15 the last toast was given and Table Lodge was closed. The Brethren then retired to the Lodge room where Lodge was called from refreshement to labor and the usual business of the Lodge was conducted. The WM kept this to a minimum as everyone had already had a full evening.

Lodge was then closed and the Brethren dispersed to their daily lives looking forward to the next Stated Communication when all can meet again.
