 | | The very warm afternoon of June 4th brought the brethren of St. John's Lodge together again for our monthly dinner and Stated Communication. This month saw the membership wearing informal clothing and many wore their favorite baseball teams shirts and jerseys. |
There weren't as many present as we have seen in the recent past but it is the beginning of the summer season and many of our members were off on vacation. |
| At six o'clock everyone filed into the dining room for a meal appropriate to baseball: Hot dogs with all the trimmings. Everyone present enjoyed the meal immensely and pleasant conversation added atmosphere to the room. For dessert Steve served us apple pie and ice cream. | | |

 | | WB Mike Palko-Dean, Master of King Solomon Lodge #60 and Bro. Nick Franz, Senior Warden were present and had made the trip to distribute the two way chipper and two Ping putters to those who won them at the King Solomon Golf Tournament. |
Bro. Jim Wold accepted his putter and the other putter and chipper which he will deliver to the winners who were not present at this meeting. |
| At 7:30 PM WM Terry Grove opened Lodge on the 3rd degree for the business meeting. The bills were paid and the minutes of the previous meeting read. Communications were also read. Visiting Grand Lodge team members VWB Gale Kenney, DDGM in District No. 5 and VWB Michael Sanders, Grand Lecturer, who is a candidate for Jr. Grand Warden and was unable to come to the last Stated Communication due to time constraints were present for this meeting. | | |
One petition for affiliation was balloted and the brother accepted by the Lodge, a Lodge Officer's Proficiency certificate was delivered by VWB Kenney which brings the number of these in St. John's Lodge No. 9 to at least five active brothers. The upcoming Grand Lodge Annual Communication was discussed and there were two places which were filled at the St. John's tables. The Fremont Fair was discussed as was the Layfayette Lodge Charity Golf tournament. |
| A memorial was done for WB Carlson who will be greatly missed. |
 | | The Lodge's scholarship committee brought the final award list to the Lodge for its approval which was done without dissent. The list of recipients is on the Scholarship page on this website. |
At 10 PM Lodge was closed in due form by WM Terry Grove and the Brethren and visitors went their separate ways until we meet again for the July Stated Communication which will include our ladies as it is our annual "Herb's Night" celebration for all of our "snow birds."
