144th Anniversary Celebration
Photos by WB Charles Tupper
On the evening of Friday, September 10th the families and friends of St. John's Lodge No. 9 met at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center to celebrate 144 years as a Masonic Lodge. At 6:00 PM people began to arrive.

A bar was set up for before dinner refreshment and there was a lot of visiting between those who had not seen one another for some time.

VW Bro. Jim Russell, the Lodge Secretary, kept track of who arrived and handed out the meal tickets so that each received the meal that they had previously ordered. Each year he performs this important function and sometimes we are so used to his efficiency that we forget how difficult his job really is. The Lodge applauds VW Bro. Jim for his dedication and work.

At 7 PM WM Mike Rust welcomed everyone to the celebration and asked VWBro. David Campbell to offer the invocation before the meal.

An excellent Salmon meal was served as well as an equally excellent vegetarian meal for those who requested them. For the next 45 minutes all that could be heard was the sound of eating utensils.

Following the meal Dina Blade and her swing band began the evenings entertainment. The music was wonderful and some of those present danced as the rest talked and listened. The acoustics in the room were very good. Dina Blade sang and the group played swing and jazz numbers for our enjoyment.

Much visiting went on during the show and after about an hour and a half people went on their separate ways.

A very successful 144th Lodge Anniversary party.
