Having Fun In 2008
About 40 members, guests, and family members attended this movie on January 18th. Many met before the movie for dinner or coffee and everyone had fun. Seattle Underground Tour
We will host a revisit to the Seattle Underground Tour this year. We did this four years ago and everyone loved the tour. Let's see what we remember from the last one as we get a tour director that knows about the history of St. John's Lodge No. 9 and its ties to the city from the 1860's into the 1900's. We will again walk down to Ivar's Fish Bar on the waterfront afterward for a no host lunch and waterfront walk. Ride the Ducks
The Seattle Duck Tour is an event that you don't want to miss. We will host the Duck except for a minimal charge of five dollars a person and will leave from and be returned to Greenwood Temple for an excellent soup and sandwich lunch following this event. The Duck only holds 36 so you need to get your reservation made in plenty of time. Once we have the 36 reservations there won't be any more. This is a wonderful event and we
hope to see all our members present as the Duck captains tell us about
our city as we wander the streets and waterways of Seattle. Be sure to get your reservation into WB Charlie Tupper early for this. Also, due to their only being 36 seats on the Duck be sure if you make a reservation that you attend. We want everyone to have a good time and we don't want any wasted space which could have been used by someone who was left out due to space limitations. Mike Rust Memorial Lodge Picnic
Held at Nile Country Club's Picnic Area B we will again have a family oriented picnic this year and there will be plenty of games and other things for the children to do. The adults will have the yearly Bingo game and, of course, steaks, chicken, and hamburgers will be the main course. Members are always assigned certain items to bring and there is always plenty of food to go around. Bring your families, bring your friends. It is going to be a wonderful time for all. St. John's Lodge No. 9's 148th Anniversary Celebration
Open to the members of St. John's Lodge No. 9, their significant others, and the principle officers of our Daughter Lodges the Anniversary Celebration will feature Bobby Bruce, who performs in the character and style of Neil Diamond. The Canadian impersonator not only mimics the great Neil Diamond to a tee but also implants some of his own pizzazz and style, a combination so clever and disarming that he "brings the house down." This event is always well attended and is a Lodge highlight of any given year. This year promises to be another event to rival events of the past. Oktoberfest at Leavenworth
If the Ducks weren't enough this outing is a blow out for St. John's Lodge No. 9! For only ten dollars a person you can bring the family and we will transport everyone to Leavenworth for a Saturday of Oktoberfest and feed them dinner! The Mayor of Leavenworth taps the keg at noon and we will be there for this. Parades, amusements, activities, and good old fashioned fun are in store for all who attend. At 5:50 PM everyone will meet at Zarthan Lodge in Leavenworth for a Sauerkraut and ribs dinner prepared by the Lodge. The bus only holds 59 people so the first 59 who pay their ten dollars a person will have the solid reservations for this outing. Each member is limited to two reservations of family only. Don't wait too long or you will be left out. Make your reservations early. For this there will be no reservations without payment so bring your checkbook to Lodge. Also, you can pay WB Charlie Tupper, VWB Jim Russell, or WM Jim Wold. They will see that your name is on the list. Watch this listing as we will add to it periodically when we find an event that we wish to participate in as a Lodge. You never know what fun is in store until you look.
