Sign Hanging Party
On March 28th Worshipful Master Al Jorgensen
took the opportunity to hold a picnic and hang a sign
on shelter No. 58 at the Masonic Park at Granite Falls.
Intermittent rain dominated the weather, but that
didn’t stop everyone from having a wonderful time.
VWBro. Chuck Brockway brought the smallest bar-b-que
ever seen, but it worked beautifully to cook hot
dogs for everyone present. Salads were plentiful and
there was plenty of pop and other libations.
The Masonic Park Board elected to commemorate
the help we have given over the years by dedicating
Shelter 58 "In Appreciation of St. John's Lodge No. 9."
Worshipful Brother Fred Turner, the Park Manager,
presented the sign to WBro. Charles Tupper who was
attending Damascus Lodge (Granite Falls). MWBro. Al
Jorgensen opted to hold a picnic and have a small
work party attach the sign to the shelter. This took one
Mason, the Park Manager who seemed to be the only
one who could handle a drill adequately to do the job,
and five others to hold the ladder, shout instructions,
and offer moral support. Another 20 or so stood
around asking “how many Masons does it take to . . .”
It was a fun time for all and we look forward to our next excuse to have a party.

St. John's Lodge No. 9 helped two families with Thanksgiving dinner fixings and with food to last most of the next month. One of these families was found to be almost bereft of the rudiments of civilization. | This family did not even have beds for the mom and daughter to sleep on. They were missing a set of silverware, dishes, and even a set of cooking pots and pans. The bedrooms and other rooms in this two bedroom HUD subsidy apartment were virtually bare and they had a hand-me-down very old television set on the floor because there was no stand or table to put it on. A very sad situation indeed.
The brethren of the Lodge stepped up to the plate and are presently helping to get this family supplied with that they need.
The mother and daughter have been living in the same apartment for the past two and a half years but have never had enough money to do anything other than buy a little food and pay the house bills. Read the full story, and find out how you can help, on our Thanksgiving Help page. |

 |
On Saturday, December 12, at 10 AM Most Worshipful Brother Gale H. Kenney, Grand Master of Masons in Washingto installed Most Worshipful Brother Alvin Jorgensen as Master of the Lodge. Right Worshipful G. Santy Lascano, Deputy Grand Master installed the rest of the officers into their respective stations and places.
These fine officers will lead the Lodge into bright future. | We have every confidence in these Brothers to navigate the unknown waters of the future which are before us.

Eleven Brothers of St. John's and five of their ladies made the Holidays extra special for families of the 555th Combat Engineer Brigade (Triple Nickel) at Fort Lewis last month. Toys, food, clothing, and other essentials were distributed to those who were fortunate enough to receive a visit from St. Nicholas. | In addition to the $1,500 supplied by the Lodge, another $1,400+ was contributed in cash, clothing and toys by member families of St. John's. WBro. Hans Wehl donned his red suit again and entertained the children and distributed gifts.
This marks the 7th year that Santa has visited families of Fort Lewis via the St. John's sleigh! |

Christmas Help in Seattle
 |
St. John's Lodge No. 9 helped two families with Christmas presents and food. These were the same families that we helped at Thanksgiving and our help has really made a difference in their lives. | The members of St. John's shopped, wrapped, and delivered Christmas presents, clothing, and even paid the overdue utility bill for one family while giving the other furniture, clothing, and other presents.
This year we know we have really helped these families to survive a very tough situation and those who helped can be proud of their work and that of St. John's Lodge No. 9. |
